The Cabin Game Early Access Updates: What Changed for Players

This page is not a mirror of Steam News. It answers a different question: what changed in the game, and which guide advice became stale because of it?

Aug. 27 launch: what the developer says is still coming

The launch announcement says Early Access will continue to expand with:

  • many more Event Card types;
  • eventually unique actions for individual Progress Cards;
  • yearly Halloween and Christmas events;
  • a larger Boo Factory inventory;
  • achievements;
  • player backgrounds / perks;
  • localization;
  • quality-of-life updates.

These are ROADMAP_FUTURE items. They are not published on this site as if they already exist.

Aug. 29 — 2nd wave of bug fixes: guides affected

  • Feeling Small: puppet/toy disappearance fixed.
  • Attic ladder: one collision bug fixed; keybinding problem fixed; others still being investigated.
  • Basement breakers: keybinding issues fixed.
  • The Knight: turn length shortened; developer still considers the event too grueling.
  • Audio balancing and small optimization changes shipped.
  • More in-game tips were added / rewritten.
  • The Dining Room is explicitly clarified as the starting room on the table.

The same note says a third round of fixes is coming. That is an update trigger, not a promise of a specific date.

What we are not turning into standalone pages

The roadmap, achievements, localization and each micro-hotfix do not each need a new URL. Until one becomes a real independent player task, this page stays the canonical update hub.

That reduces duplicate date pages, patch-copy scraping, and “freshness” pages whose only value is that their title contains today’s date.

Current verification date

Last verified: Aug. 29, 2026. If Steam publishes another patch after this date, treat event/bug details as potentially stale until the affected guide is rechecked.

How this guide was verified

The roadmap and both patch sections come from official developer announcements surfaced through Steam / SteamDB. The information gain is the impact mapping — which player tasks and guide sections each change affects — rather than republishing the patch text.
